It sounds cruel but they whine more about being put in the box (to hold them still) than about the heat of the iron. I honestly think that the second the iron hits the skin it cuts the nerves, because after it's all done, they act like nothing happened at all. Dave did our bucklings yesterday and said that they hardly made a peep. You'd think if someone would stick a curling iron that heats to 1100 degrees Farenheit on your head, you'd say something.

Oh and everynight when I make fire in the furnace and before I leave for work in the morning I have to go downstairs twice to check to make sure I closed the door to the furnace.

When Dave disbuds a goat I ask him at least 3 times if he unplugged the dehorning iron.
Hmmmmm do I maybe have a compulsive disorder?Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10272909221294270344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461988211718746801.post-84678254548222123152010-04-18T11:33:52.920-03:002010-04-18T11:33:52.920-03:00Another busy week for you Lisa! I assume that means removing their horns?

I regularly would think I forgot to turn off the coffee pot, unplug the curling iron and shut the furnace door all the way. Sure made for some stressful mornings.Kelliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14363876851539226250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461988211718746801.post-8786783099982973572010-04-16T19:33:20.721-03:002010-04-16T19:33:20.721-03:00Dave debuds the goats. He's done about 20 this year.

Last year I was shopping about 45 minutes away when I was positive I had left her on the milking stand. I literally flew here and of course she wasn't on the stand, but contently chewing her cud in her pen. I worry for the curling iron also.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10272909221294270344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7461988211718746801.post-54812133001468818712010-04-15T23:25:29.130-03:002010-04-15T23:25:29.130-03:00Wow, you have been busy! I worry that I left the curling iron plugged in.Aunt Krissyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17358159879516857766noreply@blogger.com
