Fir Pete's Sake!

Well it was go pick up the fir trees day yesterday.

This time was mostly fir branches. We wanted one last load for the winter to make sure that the does have it easy at kidding time.

J and I had fun unloading the branches.  It so funny to see the goats run for them, the minute they see us drive in.

The donkeys on the other hand, just don't see what all the fuss is about.

I can fly!!!!

They can't decide where to start!

Donkey's..."what's all the fuss about?"

Maggie digging in!

Queen of the mountain on our new rock pile!

J. and Slate cuddling

Who's going to win?

Kissy, kissy

Have a Blessed Day
Lisa

  1. I had NO idea that goats liked fir trees! Too bad we don't have any around here, although I suppose I could get throw-away Christmas trees.

    1. The lady that sold me my first goat said to give fir trees to pregnant goats and it would make for a good pregnancy and easy delivery. I don't know if it's an old wives tale but so far so good for us.

She continually had kidding issues and then someone told her about the fir trees. After that she never had issues in 25 years!

But you have to make sure that the trees aren't sprayed and it has to be fir. Not pine. Pine will actually cause miscarriages.

  2. The stuff I learn through blogging! We don't have native fir trees around here but I will keep this in mind. :)
