My new hobby.

I've done it! I've finally done it! I've let the chickens loose.

So now I have a new hobby...chicken watching!

I love watching them. They look so happy now.

They were just a scratching and pecking and doing chicken things.

So I took so many pictures of them, you'd think I'm a chicken photographer.

Ahhh....yesssss....my new hobby. It could become addictive.

The only problem was that at 9pm I still had a straggler. So I had to go on chicken round up.

Even the ducks didn't seem to perturbed.

Have a Blessed Evening

  1. What kind of chickens are they? They look long legged. How long have you been keeping them cooped up? Or did you have a chicken run? I let mine free range from the start. They are fun to watch. One gets a bug and clucks and all the other hens come a running!

  2. They've always had a nice big run, but it's not the same as being free outside. They're all a mixture of different chickens. They're still young pullets from this spring so that's why they're still leggy.

  3. I like chicken watching too (Mostly to be sure I stay out of their way though). They are interesting creatures. You got some good shots of them.

  4. Lisa, nice blog. I became a follower today. I do like real life farm or urban farm blogs.

I've been around my share of chickens in my youthful years. They are kind of soothing to watch as they scratch the dirt looking for that next bug and make that low key chicken sound that they make. It's like a cat purring contentment sound.

I hope you have many years of enjoyment from your girls.
